I love Madonna!
Today I've been listening to songs from the 80s all day since its raining over here and there's nowhere to go as a result. Listening to Madonna is inspiring me to come up with an 80s look.

Let's see how this works. For now enjoy this lovely song by Madonna. It definitely describes my excited mood.

Woohoo my chic reward from INPink has been shipped!

After accumulating almost 4000 chic points on Chictopia for the past 3 years I decided to splurge on a Chic Reward. I had been eyeing a whole bunch of prizes on the rewards gallery for quite a while now but most of the time they were either out of my chic points range or redeemed by someone else before me. Yeah getting them can be quite a challenge sometimes...

But anyways finally I was able to find something I needed liked and successfully grab it in time. The prize were lovely bangles from INPink that I absolutely loved when I first saw them!

Let me tell you why...My jewelry collection is limited on gold pieces and bangles. I don't know exactly why I guess I'm just too picky when it comes to jewelry and I'm usually more attracted to silver pieces instead.

So this 13 pieces bangles set is the perfect way to start increasing my gold accessories!

I can't wait to get these. Here's a sneak peak of them and look forward to the outfit I already have planned to feature them in...

Do you like them?

Thanks for reading my post.

It was September 6, 2011 and I was in my "Great Ideas in Science" class in college. My day was a bit chaotic as I had overslept and gotten to my first class a bit late to add to the drama I had forgotten to put my phone on vibrate and it suddenly rang in the middle of class.

"Wow!" "Just what I needed!", was the first thought that ran across my mind.

Most of the class starred at me as I fumbled through my backpack looking for the noisy device. I managed to get it and shut it off but still a thought lingered in my mind.

"Who is calling me in the middle of class?", I said to myself.

I continued to pay attention to that day's lesson and as soon as I left class my curiosity was killing me and I had to find out who was calling me. Lucky enough this unknown caller had left me a voicemail so I simply called my voicemail and received a great surprise.

The first words I heard were...

"Hey Sheyla this is Jasmin from Teen Vogue...this is regarding the Pacsun Dress Irresponsibly Contest."

I immediately freaked out!

"Teen Vogue? Is this a joke?", I muttered.

But it was all reality. I quickly called back my mysterious caller only to find out I was Teen Vogue's & Pacsun's Dress Irresponsibly Contest winner.

I could not believe that such a fantasy had just become a dream come true. The lovely Jasmin congratulated me and told me I had won a Pacsun $500 gift card thanks to my stylish outfit and that I was to be featured on Teen Vogue as well.

I followed Jasmin's instructions and submitted the necessary paperwork and soon my gift card came. Just yesterday I submitted the looks for her and Teen Vogue to choose from to feature and now all that's left to wait for is the next Teen Vogue issue to be published.

I wanted to take the time to share this surprising event to thank Teen Vogue and Pacsun for the opportunity and also to thank all of you guys for giving me inspiration and the will to keep on sharing my style with the world. If it wasn't for all of the comments and feedback that I receive occasionally from you guys, my chictopia fans and my lookbook.nu fans I would not have made it this far.

Once again thank you and I can't wait to share the Teen Vogue issue with all of you. For now look forward to new outfits and get a sneak peak by watching my recent haul videos.

Love,
Sheyla

Oh and in case you were wondering here's the look that made it all happen...

Today is a happy day!

The Miss Universe Pageant concluded not long ago and my favorite contestant won the the crowd! It was no other than the one and only Miss Angola 2011 Leila Lopes!

I was rooting for Miss Angola from the minute I saw her last week while I finally got into the Miss Universe mode like I always do each year.

I knew she had a lot going for her because my first impression of her was "Wow! What a beauty!" and then when I researched more about her and found out about her character I was totally sold on supporting her.

Not only was this woman beautiful but she was also smart, elegant and super kind-hearted. I found her official page on Facebook and a few days later she "liked" my supportive comment to her and I thought that was the sweetest thing ever.

I'm extremely proud of my Angolan roots and she made me even more proud today. This post was basically to share my excitement with you all. Miss Universe Leila Lopes definitely inspires me to go for the crown someday like I always dreamed of!

Today is a day that I'll never forget...

Sheyla
