Today we managed to get out of the house for a bit to free our minds of things. As we roamed through the store my mind was able to stave off worries and issues that have been in my thoughts as of lately. As we go through our lives and experience more difficult circumstances we might at times overthink situations and let worries take up more space than they should.

When life gets difficult, always remember to prioritize your mental health. Going out for a walk and soaking in some vitamin D might seem mindless and unproductive, but you would be surprised at how much such a simple activity can improve your spirits.
We captured the last bit of golden hour sunshine and it felt so refreshing to enjoy those last bits of light in my skin. If you're ever feeling gloomy, I invite you to go outside to explore other surroundings. You might be surprised at how uplifting it can be...

I have not taken blog style outfit of the day photos in a minute. But last night I revisited my tumblr by chance and regained the interest to post a look like I used to back in the day.

I honestly do not know what the future of this blog holds. However, one of the things I do know is I'm keeping it alive to remind myself to keep doing activities that I enjoy. I've been blogging for over 10 years and although in the eyes of others this blog may not be as successful as others, to me it has been because I've stuck to it.

As people grow older life become more fast-pace, and joining the "rat race" alone can make one lose their hobbies because one eventually buys into the belief that one does not have time for it. Here's the thing about hobbies though, like anything in life that you love you have to make time for it. There will always be an obstacle in the way of doing the things you love but it is your goal to jump over those obstacles to keep your passion alive.

Over the years I've learned a lot about myself, modeling, photography, video editing, fashion and various other things. And to me that is success because this blog has made me a more well-rounded individual.

Today I encourage you to do the same, let's keep our hobbies alive and continue to grow through them.

Love,

Sheyla ❤

 Hello,

Its me again, Sheyla, your inconsistent fashion blogger friend yet again showing up randomly with a lame excuse for my disappearance.

Honestly, I was away due to a shift in my priorities for 2021. As a now 28 year old I put more of my focus on my marriage and financial goals. As a result, blogging became a bit boring and recording/editing videos for my Youtube died out temporarily with my laptop back then.

I missed you all and truly wanted to return sooner. However, I lost momentum during my hiatus. And it was just at the end of last year that I was able to finally repurchase another laptop.

If you kept up with me on my instagram @sheylagomescastillo you probably did not miss me as much. I was able to post there periodically because nowadays what fashionista doesn't have a smartphone with an incredible camera?

I did manage to do some traveling around Florida, New York and Mexico while I was away though (yes despite the extra planning a pandemic now requires)! Speaking of which, how are you guys holding up through this whole thing? I'm hoping most of you weren't affected much and are still standing strong. And if these last 2 years weren't as kind to you I pray that the new year is 10 times better for you.

Initially, it was all very intimidating to me but thankfully my family was able to manage through it all. We're still cautious but ultimately we're all grateful that this pandemic didn't get the best of most of us.

I do not wish to bore you much further with my apologetic blabbing, so I will leave this post off with my new year's eve #ootd. What would you like to see more from me this year?

I wish you all a blessed and very prosperous 2022!

P.s: You might see some circa posts of 2021 here and there because there are some outfits I did manage to capture last year that I think you all would appreciate.

When you do not have a photographer available, take matters into your own hands and take your own photos! Taking these photos brought me back to my first days as a blogger. If you look back to the earlier posts of my blog many of the photographs back then were taken by me and my little tripod in my parents backyard. What initially started as a fun summer hobby slowly developed into a passion.

As you can see nowadays I still play around with my surroundings and use random things as tripods when one isn't readily available. For this shoot I used my car and my little notebook (check out my sunglasses shot). And as you can see the photos turned out ok. Well except for this last one where I'm completely out of focus!
Have you tried taking your own photos before?

Thrifting is often a hit or miss for me (the latter being more accurate). But I must say it is quite the entertaining experience if you're patient and devoted to it. During one of my more successful trips to Goodwill I snagged this beautiful printed buttoned-down shirt. It features this intricate artistic print of reds and browns. The fabric of it is chiffon. And it has these flattering pleats that give it an airy look.

I decided to make this shirt the focal point of the outfit by simply styling around it and pairing it with accessories that purposely complement it. Overall, I think this outfit was a great success thanks to my little goodwill find.

Do you go thrifting as well?

Happy new year 2019! Thank you for sticking out with me even though I have not been able to post as much lately. I hope you all make the best of 2019. I will not bore you with my new year resolution but I will say that my 2019 dream board is in the works and I encourage you all to do one as well. Ask the universe and it shall provide you what you truly need. So DREAM BIG fashionistas!

Dear fashionistas,

On May 9th, 2018 I turned 25 years old. It's hard to grasp the fact that I'm now a quarter of a century old. It's also funny I still recall the following words someone uttered to me: "after your fifteen birthday the years will flash before your eyes". And I must say that those words proved to be true.
It seems like I closed my eyes and next thing I knew I opened them and I'm a year older. And no, by no means I'm complaining about this at all!

I'm very grateful to have made it this far in my walk of life. I see each year as a blessing, I only wish I could do more at my age. I feel like I still have a long way to go in this "adulting phase" but for now I'm doing okay and learning more about myself as I go.

Last night we ventured to South Beach once again to experience its nightlife at Story Nightclub. Honestly, I don't love the clubbing experience that much but what I do love is coming up with the outfit for the night.
 jacket | H&M   crop top | FOREVER 21   leather skirt | GOODWILL
earrings | FOREVER 21  clutch | AMAZON   booties | JUSTFAB
Shimmery fabrics are always great for clubbing because they make you stand out even from afar. Also I love the interaction of the gold shimmers with the night lights because they make your outfit look more expensive too!
What do you like to wear at clubs?

Love,
Sheyla ♥
