I've had this lovely top for a while now but I've been on the longest process of figuring out how to wear it as a dress. At first I tried to wear it as a blouse but I felt like tucking it in did not do it enough justice. The most challenging part was working with the length of this blouse. In the end I managed to pull it off by

A few days ago I tried the "best twist-out ever" method and I loved it. I couldn't wait to do it again and this time actually show you guys my results. Once again it came out great, this time even better! I used a product I have been using and loving for a while now - the shea butter curling custard - and my twists came out soft and so defined. If you guys would like to know what my staple products are feel free to let me know in the comments below. Besides the curling custard I also used the perm rods you see below. You can find these at any beauty supply store. I got about 4 packs of these for 0.69 cents each.

blazer, shorts & heels | FOREVER 21  top | ZARA  watch | CASIO
necklace | GLINT &GLEAM

I'm starting to get very attached to wearing white pieces. There's something so classic and pure about white that I love to wear it nowadays. With today's white on white ensemble I felt like a bright star, hence the ode to the brightest star there is "Polaris". To prevent the all-white look from looking too boring I added my favorite color combination as accessory colors - pink and mint. And because the peplum look is in style, I faked the effect by adding a waist belt to this billowy tank top.

What do you think of this look?

Happy National Ice Cream Day everyone!

shirt | FOREVER 21  jeans | OLD NAVY  gramercy bag | JUSTFAB  court shoes | FOREVER 21
On my nails: soft teal | NYX

Today I spent the day taking care of myself - painting my nails, doing my eyebrows...- and later on I just put together this quick outfit to run to the store and grab a box of magnum ice cream. As the girl with a sweet tooth that I am. I could not pass on the excuse to go treat myself to some good ice cream to commemorate the national occasion.

I kept the look casual as usual. A beige chiffon blouse that I've had for a while now, its one of my staples, paired with a comfortable and classic pair or white jeans. And also I added two of my recent purchases these tan court shoes and this fabulous Justfab bag.

1. Stripped Bodycon Dress  FOREVER 21 (here, similar)
2. Oversized Boyfriend Watch FOREVER 21 (here, similar)
3. Nude Court Shoes ZARA (here, similar)
4. French Style White Shell Texture Necklace EFOXCITY (here, similar)

I'm glad that this Summer pays a homage to the classic print of stripes. I believe that a striped pattern dress or blouse instantly adds a touch of glam to a look. The thing with stripped clothing is the less you pair with it the better. That's why I love this Forever 21 Stripped Bodycon Dress because the dress alone is a beauty and not to mention very figure flattering. Ever since I saw the boatneck stripped shirt look on the infamous Audrey Hepburn years back I've been obsessed with the trend. With her simple yet classy style Audrey proved to us that stripped tops were here to stay for a while.

To keep the rest of this look simple I added this Oversized Boyfriend Watch also from Forever 21. I admit that like all the other fashion bloggers out there I've been really lusting over the Michael Kors version of this classic chronograph watch but as a college student that's a splurge that I will only be able to afford after I graduate it seems. Still, for now I can fake it, with dupes like this one, and they look just as good.

Then comes the ultimate basic: a pair of nude heels. These Nude Court Shoes are everywhere these days, and I don't blame them. I mean who would resist looking taller and more professional with just the addition of a pair of heels? I wouldn't! As I said these lovelies are everywhere, however, I'm particularly a fan of the one above from ZARA the most. They're pretty expensive - about $100 - but I admit they're worth the splurge because they have the quality and timeless beauty of that of a Jeffrey Campbell Lita. I saved up to buy these court shoes a couple months back only to find out they were SOLD OUT in my size back then so I ended up settling for these Forever 21 "dupes" instead. And now I'm in a dilemma because ZARA has restocked my size hahahahaha...

And last but not least is this lovely statement necklace from the online shopping mall eFoxcity.  The name of this beauty is French Style White Shell Texture Necklace. I like the touch of elegance this necklace adds to any outfit. Its golden hues would go perfect with the golden hues of the chronograph watch and against the stripped dress it would stand out a lot. This piece is one of those bib necklaces that look perfect under the collars of solid color or printed blouses as well. In addition, eFoxcity jewelry has a great quality so I know this necklace will last me for a while. Their store not only sells beautiful jewelry but also discount homecoming dresses and celebrity [inspired] dresses so if you're looking for an elegant dress to sport with your statement necklace they've got you covered as well.

What are your thoughts on the Gold/Black&White/Luxe trend going on this summer?

Today I went to the country side of South Florida - also known as Homestead. It was so beautiful and refreshing to be surrounded by nature rather than malls and cars. My absolute favorite feature of this region were the pretty landscapes. There were so many flowers and breezy trees that it felt wonderful to be there.
I even got to visit an orchid garden! What a dream that was...so many beautiful plants. For the occasion I wore a very simple outfit. A chiffon shirt to take in the soft breeze and some sailor shorts to handle the heat. I had a great day.

p.s: sorry for the photo overload, I couldn't help but share the beauty. xoxo

My beloved shorts are officially back!

Remember all the shorts I've DIYed so far? Well they will soon be styled once again on my blog. Well why you ask..well because its almost SUMMER! As you all know I'm a huge Summer fan because I love to enjoy the warmth of the sun. I find that summer is the best season for the most comfortable clothes. Also its imperative to apply my favorite motto ("less is more") over the summer because the last thing you want is to become a "sweaty gal" if you over-do-it with the layers you're wearing.

I love distressed shorts because they can be casual or chic depending on how you style them, as you can see here. So, for that reason they are the perfect wardrobe staple for summer.

Besides that sweet bikini - I know you have stored somewhere in your drawers - what other summer piece you can't wait to wear this season?

crop top | H&M   bag | GOODWILL   shorts | DIY   sandals | FOREVER 21

Today I got to walk around,  do some shopping and ride on the boyfriends motorcycle for the day.
I decided to name this look tourist because for some reason I felt like one in this attire. Must be mainly because of the whole tropical vibe I've got going on with this look. I found this lovely crop top at H&M on my birthday and I could not pass it out because it was a steal - only $4.95 - and it represents my motherland (I'm Cuban guys!).

Overall it was a fun experience because you truly realize how much crap you buy when you actually have to  carry all of it on your backpack and your bare skinny arms, all while holding on to your driver's waist.

Sheyla ♥
