So yesterday I decided that I wanted to make my entire head curly to try the Afro curly look. And wow I must say I'm in love with the results.

This idea to go curly all started on Friday when I finally told myself I wanted curly locks to make my bowler hat look cute and girly. I had a dinner date with my friends and I decided to try that look for the event.

So I simply divided my hair in 4 sections and after applying Long Term Relationships leave-in conditioner to each section I braided each section and then I covered my hair and went to shower. The results after taking them down before I got dressed was this...

And then yesterday I decided I wanted my whole hair curly like I mentioned and this time instead of 4 i did 6 braids (3 on each side) and I made each braid into a bantu knot. I put on my satin wrap and went to sleep and this morning when I took the braids/bantu knots down and these were the results!!!

I'm so in love with this look!!! I think it looks adorable and I'm definitely trying it again.

What do you guys think of this look?

Have you ladies tried the entire head curly also?

Would you like me to do a video tutorial on this look?

Sheyla

Hello friends!

How is everyone doing lately? I'm doing well I just haven't showed you friends looks because its still constantly raining here in South Florida. We have been under Tornado and Flood watch as a result of this inclement weather. Its quite depressing actually but I'm making the best of it.

At least the good news is that the rain stops tomorrow and the chilly weather replaces it!

I'm so in love with the tribal trend lately! It really brings me back to my childhood when I thought Pocahontas was one of the most beautiful Disney characters ever. It feels nice to emulate her style a bit with the tribal trend.

I found this cool poncho on my grandma's closet as well and I wore it yesterday to bring out the Pocahontas within me. And I must say I really liked it! Unfortunately there are no full body shots to show you guys only the snip that I will post below.

Hopefully now that the rain is leaving I can feature this poncho in another OOTD.

I really like Pocahontas because she was a character that wanted to unite people despite their race and customs because she believed we were all similar in some way or another. Like her I also want to unite people someday. I believe it is imperative for today's world to be united because there's a lot that we can learn from each other but we fail to see it.

Now my questions to you guys are:

Do you agree with my rationality?

Are you a fan of the Tribal Trend?

Were you also inspired by Pocahontas as a child?

And now before I go I leave you with the most beautiful song in the Pocahontas soundtrack...

Colors of the Wind

p.s: Don't forget to mute my blog soundtrack to fully appreciate this song.

And my take on the Pocahontas look

Hello friends,

As I promised here's the Kim Nana inspired look!
Please tell me if you like it...
Let me talk about the story behind the clothes now. The white vintage blouse I borrowed it from grandma's closet - YES I DID! - yeah I fell in love with it once I saw it and I knew it would be perfect for the Kim Nana look. I noticed that on the drama City Hunter Kim Nana loved to wear these types of shirts and  I was looking around to find a similar one, so happy that my grandma had my back!

For the shoes in the drama she was often wearing high heel loafers but I felt like I had worn my loafers before in a similar look so I had to twist some things. In addition it has been raining in my town quite a lot so heels and rain do not mix at all specially when you have to walk around campus in order to get to your classes. As a result I opted for my Forever 21 lace up wedges which went perfectly with my bowler hat and bag.

I don't know if you can see the french braid too well but I also did that to add more femininity to the outfit. I really loved how it came out. I learned to do it from Shirley!

If you want to learn how to do it as well click on the link on her name.

And by the way I apologize for the lack of photos because I was rushing to go to work and my dad was my photographer this time. Hahahaha I'm making each of my family members become my photographers one by one. I love them for being so supportive.

And I almost forgot to mention my LITAS are here! I will be featuring them soon - look out for that.

Enjoy the photos!

Hello friends,

So here's yesterday's look. The style I was going for was preppy college girl! Isn't that cheesy? Yeah I know but I thought that idea was cute and overall I liked the ending result.

For my next look I'm thinking of using the character Kim Nana from the Korean drama City Hunter. Mmm now that I think about it some of your might not know about this character so here's a photo of her so you can get an idea...

I hope you guys have a wonderful day! Enjoy the photos from yesterday's look.

Hello friends!

This is what I wore today. Got lots of compliments about it being cute and I actually felt cute hahahahaha I wish I had gone on a date with my love like this but he's still away so that wasn't possible.

How was your day?

Let me know below.

p.s: And if you're wondering why I posted this today is because I just got my internet back so I felt the need to write a post as soon as possible from the comfort of my bed.

Love you guys!

Sheyla ♥
Hello friends!

So yesterday I completely jinxed myself by announcing that the OOTD would be posted in the afternoon and not indoors! Like seriously it all backfired hahahahaha

I got home and it was still a beautiful day but my photographer was not home yet so I said to my self not a big deal he will come soon enough right? WRONG my little brother had an afternoon activity apparently and by the time he made it home the dreadful rain was back and the day turned ugly once again. Sad right? I know...

So I ended up doing what I said I wouldn't do...take photos indoors? Like really everything did not happen according to plan but hey I think overall the shots turned out ok even though I hate the indoor quality still.

I hope you guys like it regardless.

 <3

Much love,
Sheyla ♥

Hello friends!

I'm just stopping by for a quick post...a sneak peek to be more precise.

I'm sorry about not posting an outfit yesterday as promised. Whe I got home it started pouring so badly that there was no way for me to take photos. And if you're wondering why not indoors? its because the quality of the photos I take with my camera indoors is not that great and would take away from the outfits. Who knows maybe when I get to purchase my Nikon you guys will get to see some of those shots.

Well this is me reporting from my hour and half break in college.

Enjoy the sneak peek!

And back to studying I go...

p.s: OOTD post this afternoon.

Recently Teen Vogue sent out these small samples of the the Coach Poppy Fragrance to the first 200 readers if I remember correctly who voted for a Snapshot Contest contestant and I got mine in the mail a few weeks ago.

I like it! It smells fruity yet flowery also... Yeah I can't describe fragrances very well but hey all I know is that I'm adding this new perfume to my Christmas wish list along with my other favorite by Juicy Couture - the original fragrance - I just realized I consider myself two things a shoe girl and a perfume girl.

Since my description of the fragrance was so poor I definitely encourage you to smell this perfume at a local drugstore so you can get the gist of what I meant.

Love you guys!

Sheyla

When you're upset, you: I listen to music and talk it out with a close friend or my love. Also if I think that the situation calls for being alone instead I find a place to get my mind off things, like a park, the beach...etc.

Your favorite pet: Dogs! I'm a dog lover at heart. ♥

Black or white: Black

Your biggest fear:  Failing a life and not accomplishing to goals I've set out for myself.

Best feature: Legs.

Everyday attitude: I try to look at the positive side of things.

What is perfection: It's beautiful to be imperfect because that is human nature so I say nothing is perfect in this world.

Guilty pleasure:  Ice cream! I LOVE IT! My boyfriend would totally approve of this answer. I love to get ice cream when we go on dates. At the moment my favorite ice cream is all of the Magnum ice creams.

5. I love to dance and I'm serious about this! At parties I'm the one that is still dancing and its 5 A.M.

FINALLY!!!!

OMG I've been trying to be featured on the TeenVogue.com Snapshot of the the day for so long now that at some point I felt like it was never going to happen.

It was a miracle that I won the Pacsun contest but I've been determined to make it to the Teen Vogue snapshot for a long time now and I'm so excited that I finally made it on it.

Wow this is another great piece of news I'm super excited again you guys.

Thank you so much once again to Teen Vogue and also all of my followers for your support. Now all I'm looking forward to is the Teen Vogue issue itself where I'm featured and my year should be complete.

Check out my feature below...or on the website itself!

Hello fashionistas!

After a stressful day at school I was in great need for something to lift my mood. I decided to check on your blogs in between breaks at school and boy I'm so glad I did!

I read a post by fellow fashionista Ashlee Shevonne and immediately I was super excited!

Any guesses as to what news made me jump up and down?

Well I'll just tell you anyways...

In the Spring of 2012 Target will make another of my dreams come true...yes you guessed it right if you're thinking this is about Jason Wu!!!

OMG I could not believe it! If you've been following my blog for quite a while now or you have read my post on Jason Wu's Fall/Winter Collection then you should know how happy the news make me.

It seems that this year has been the "fashion lottery" year for me! Most of the stylish things I've always wanted to add to my closet are miraculously ending up in my closet and it seems that next year it will be the same.

I've never been this blessed before and I'm really thankful for that. God is good my friends...

Another wonderful thing that happened today was that I purchased a pair of Jeffrey Campbell LITAS!!!

I ordered them online through The Sole of Chicago - Lori's Designer Shoes the store where I found them priced lowest after researching all over the web. In the end I found this store thanks to another fellow fashionista - Anosha.

I finally did it and I can't believe it!!! But yes these babies broke my bank once again so I won't be shopping for a while now; perhaps until either Black Friday or Christmas itself.

Now that I've gotten most of the items I desperately wanted for Fall I can say I'm content and ready to get my head back in the game - that is college - my next goal is to bring that 3.0 GPA to 3.5 and beyond!

I'm determined to graduate to find a nice job and live a stable life.

And I know that with the perseverance that I have I can do this. Wish me luck fashionistas!

Unfortunately that means that I can only post outfits and fashion related posts on weekends alone.

I will focus on studying during the week from now on. But don't worry I'll stop by occasionally to reply to your comments but for the most part look forward to the weekends for fashion outfits from me.

How is everyone doing with school if you're a student or work itself?

I know it can be stressing but make a bit of time for yourself sometimes; it will definitely make you feel better and refreshed.

"Thank you for all the love and support my lovely followers!

Stay beautiful and focused on the things you want in life."

But before I leave here's a sneak peek of Jason's collaboration with Target!

Let me know what you think...doesn't it look promising?

P.s: Thank you Ashlee & Anosha for making my day! ♥

Sheyla

Hello friends!

Today was a pretty nice day. The family and I had lunch at Pollo Tropical we love our white rice and beans hahahaha we chatted and enjoyed ourselves there. Afterwards we went to the movies with to see Killer Elite and it was quite a movie. I recommend it; not the best but it had quite a good plot.

And then to finish up the day we grabbed some donuts at Dunkin' Ds and closed a nice day outing.
I was really hoping to see my hubby but since that wasn't possible hanging with the family was awesome.

Hopefully I'll see him next weekend -- we're in different colleges so either of us has to commute to see each other.

But anyways how was your day? Leave me some comments below I want to connect with you guys as well.

And as promised here's the outfit of the day.

What I'm wearing:
Floral Headband - Forever 21
Gray High - LowTank top - Pacsun
Black and White Stripes Bodycon Skirt - Target
Black Wedge Booties - Forever 21
Cross Pendant - Pacsun

I hope you guys like it.

Take care

Hello friends!

So yesterday I took on the task of getting rid of my shoe boxes to allow my closet to have more space.
Oh my gosh it was quite a task! I never Imagined I had so many boxes in my closet. But in the end it was all worth it.

Here's the final result...

I'm glad I did it because now its so much easier to reach out to the pair that I want to wear for the day.

After doing this I realized that by the time I'm about to move out of my parent's house I will need a walk-in closet in my apartment hahahahaha. At least my boyfriend has no problems with that and said I could do it if we move in together.

What do you guys think?

How do you guys keep your closet organized?

Also I'm thinking of adding another shelf in the middle to make a bit more space. MY other issue are my clothes though!

They keep multiplying way faster than my shoes hehhehee for them I'm really out of space because every other drawer compartment that I own is literally packed!

Oh my clothing and shoe dilemma! But then again aren't most girls like this?

I hope you enjoyed this post~

And OH look forward to my outfit of the day later on today!

Hugs and kisses,

Sheyla
