sheer blouse, black booties, dodecahedron earrings & sunglasses | FOREVER 21
neon orange dress | NASTYGAL

Neon colors scream attention in a good way. I love the pop of color a neon piece brings to an outfit because it becomes a fashion statement. However too much neon at once can be overpowering. That is why I paired this neon orange dress with a sheer black blouse.

The first time I tried on this dress alone for my mom to see she remarked, "Are you going out of the house like that?" and that was it for me I knew this color alone would not cut it. Now whenever I wear this dress I have to contrast it with other pieces and oooh does it look much better.

Not all colors work on my skin and by adding this black blouse it tones down this dress while still giving off enough of its neon light.

Do you rock neon colors?

jacket | OASAP   hoodie | TARGET   pleather skirt | PACSUN   socks | FOREVER 21
Today was yet another chilly day and I was quite pleased. I put my layering skills to the test - not that I have much skill - and it worked out. Layering is something very much needed during chilly days because if you layer correctly you won't be cold for the whole day. I threw on a basic tube top on and on the top of it I added my gray hoodie. To make sure I was completely warm I added my leather jacket on top and voila the top half of the look was complete.

For the bottom I was more basic. Because our chilly days aren't that chilly I simply paired some black sheer tights with some knee high socks. I think this combination goes great with all short high waisted bottoms. For this occasion I wore it with my pleather high waisted skirt. This type of combination is very cute to sport because you get to show off a bit of your leg and it looks sexy.

How do you like to layer during the Winter?

Long time no see fashionistas! How have you guys been? I've been good, school recently started so I've been studying. Excuse me for not posting in a while not only because I was busy but also because I have been lazy when it comes to taking outfit photos. For those of you who have blogs yourselves you can totally relate to what I mean.

I decided to document today's outfit because today was a cold day!
If you are new to my blog you might be wondering why is that a good day to take photos? Well I live in South Florida and the climate here is very warm 90 percent of the time. Because we're in Winter I think that it would be boring to post warm weather outfits all the time. So I figured, today being a cold day, it was a good day to show my outfit.
aztec cardigan & sweater | SALVATION ARMY  jeans & necklace | PACSUN
booties | FOREVER 21
For today's look I paired a V-neck sweater and an oversized cardigan on top and a pair of skinny jeans at the bottom. The key to wearing baggy sweaters or cardigans is to balance the oversized portions of the outfit with fitted ones. So for example this look would have also worked with a fitted bodycon skirt.
And if you live in a colder climate don't forget your tights!

I love the Aztec print of this cardigan. I definitely consider it a statement outerwear piece whenever I feel that my outfit needs something to make it pop! I found this cardigan last year at Salvation Army and the pink sweater I recently thrifted there as well.

Thank you for stopping by and catching up with me.

Lately I've been listening to Shakira's old hits a lot. If you know Shakira from the good old days you will relate to what I'm saying the most. I love old Shakira's down-to-earth nature - don't get me wrong though because Shakira still is like that. However back then Shakira was purely like this.

One of my favorites of hers is Antologia a soft tune with some beat to it but ultimately a beautiful song to the ears. And if you're into lyrics you will love the words of this song. The only downside to this song is that its in Spanish - well its not a downside for me - but if you do not speak the language then you can understand what I meant.

Back then there were no ultra-sexy dance moves and sort of racy videos of Shakira all the time. Shakira was rather herself often then. I've decided to use the old Shakira as an inspiration. I'm slowly getting into neutrals and her down-to-earth style from back then seems to fit this vibe I'm incorporating in my style for this new year.

I leave you with this song of hers that I playback a galore of times these days.

Its short and sweet but oh so beautiful...

blouse & shorts | H&M   shoes | FOREVER 21
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013 MY LOVES!
Thank you so much for all of the support and feedback you've given me this past year. I'm grateful to each and everyone of you because you have made my style grow as well as this blog.

I hope 2013 is an even better year filled with lots of joy and success.
Let's make this new year a GREAT one.

For this year's party I went for a casual outfit. I like the idea of wearing light colors for a new year party because light colors can bring light to the new year ahead. I'm hoping that the good vibes these light colors bring will help 2013 be a good year.

Did you party for New Year's Eve this year? What did you wear?
