Its never too late to find out about those who came before you to get you to where you are today. I officially began the search for my roots on my 25th birthday. It is something that has been on my mind since 2009. I've always wondered if there is more to me than what meets the eye and 23andMe truly proved that there is! I've always been keen to traveling, lots of excitement always ensued whenever the days to my next vacation started dwindling down. Now I know that my love for travel and cultures from all over the world probably stems from all the travels my ancestors did in the past.Nevertheless, I'm proud to say that I'm from all over the world!

What is your ethnicity or what do you think it is?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts down below.

Sheyla ♥

I've been a fan of BlackPink for quite a while now. I wanted to pay tribute to my favorite member, Lisa, and did this video of one of her most famous makeup looks. This is from BlackPink's campaign to promote some popping lipsticks. Lisa's makeup is always flawless but she also likes to add a pop of of color to her looks by adding a vibrant lip color.

How did I do?

Dear fashionistas,

On May 9th, 2018 I turned 25 years old. It's hard to grasp the fact that I'm now a quarter of a century old. It's also funny I still recall the following words someone uttered to me: "after your fifteen birthday the years will flash before your eyes". And I must say that those words proved to be true.
It seems like I closed my eyes and next thing I knew I opened them and I'm a year older. And no, by no means I'm complaining about this at all!

I'm very grateful to have made it this far in my walk of life. I see each year as a blessing, I only wish I could do more at my age. I feel like I still have a long way to go in this "adulting phase" but for now I'm doing okay and learning more about myself as I go.

I have been a fan of Curlformer rollers since the start of my natural hair journey. The ones shown are actually imitation ones since I was unable to afford buying the real ones back then. After I tried them for quite some time I realized that these dupe ones worked just fine on my hair and I could not justify spending $60 more to get the real ones.
Years later, the Hydra Curlformer came into the picture and I used it for my wash n' gos as well as some twist-outs to achieve some curl definition. However, what I did not know until recently is that the Hydra Curlformer can also be used for straight styles such as blowouts, roller sets and roller sets! The idea for this video came from that realization, I wanted to test the pairing of both the Curlformer rollers and the Hydra Curllformer to see if my curls would be any different.

Below are my results of my fun experiment:

Wearing black lipstick is definitely not for the faint-hearted! The color is so daring that the first thing you might think of is that it is too goth. I myself, have struggled with making this lipstick work. In fact, this is my second time wearing it.
I learned that to make this shade work you must make it the center of the look. In turn, the eyeshadows should be complementary to the look rather than adversary.

In the video above you can see how I finally made this lipstick work in a sultry way.

Have you tried wearing black lipstick before? Let me know in the comments below which black lipstick is your favorite.

Lately, I have been obsessed with makeup. As a result, you've probably noticed that my blog has been taken over by quite a few beauty videos in the last few weeks. This all began after I started to actually teach myself to do my own makeup by watching youtube videos. Currently, I'm by no means an expert or wear makeup on a daily basis but I can proudly say I've gotten better. This is why I began to record these videos to teach others, who might be going through the struggles I went through, that you can learn to do your own makeup. And to teach them that with practice applying makeup does becomes easier!

But if you're one of the fashionistas that likes my fashion videos better, do not worry those will be making a come back soon as well. Stay tuned for my Summer 2017 Lookbook. Yes, you read that right. I'm in the process of finishing recording a lookbook! I think we both agree the release of one lookbook by me has been long overdue.

Which nude lippie was your favorite?

Also what fashion trends are you looking forward to seeing on my upcoming lookbook?

Sheyla ♥

For years I've been dying to try a cushion foundation because Korean Dramas - more specifically Miss Korea - got me super interested in them. In South Korea it is all about having great skincare and looking as natural as possible when wearing makeup. As a result cushion foundations became very popular because they are light and provide enough coverage to achieve a natural look.

Remember yesterday's makeup look?

Well if you remember and you would like to recreate it. Then I have good news for you!
Here's how I did it...

Before I begin here's a chart outlining the main parts of your eye area:

source: Temptalia

First apply eye primer on your lids.
I used e.l.f eyelid primer.
In order to cover your eyelid area better I recommend using your "ring finger" to apply the eye primer.

Next apply your main eye shadow color to the center of your eyelids.

In this case that would be the bronze eyeshadow. If you're still not very proficient with eyeshadow brushes then using your ring finger again is fine. I like it better anyways because you have better control of your finger right? Just make sure to clean up your finger first.
*111 choco-latte - CLINIQUE (palette)

Now apply a dark complementary shadow to your outer lids.

For this application I definitely recommend using an eyeshadow brush because you're tracing a "v" shape but sideways (">") on your outer lid with the eyeshadow. I used a dark brown eyeshadow for my outer lid but any "dark" shadow that looks good on your skin is fine. For example: black, dark gray...etc
Try to wing it out as you apply it because that will give your eyes the cat-eye or winged out look.

After apply your lighter complementary color to your brows.

This will highlight your brows, enhance your eyelid color and make your eyes look more alive. Any light and shimmery color will do. I used a shimmery white eyeshadow by CLINIQUE.

Then apply a light golden complimentary eyeshadow to your inner lid and lower lash line.
This will make your eyes look bigger and bring more attention to them.

To finish off curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.

Finally use your favorite liquid or gel eyeliner to make a winged eyeliner .<---learn b="b" how-to="how-to">HERE

*Additionally you can also apply a powder bronzer for a sharper look.

And you're done! Here are some closeups of the final product.
Products Used:
Eyelid Primer - e.l.f
Bronze Eyeshadow - Dollar Store Palette
Dark Brown, White & Gold Eyeshadow - 111 choco-latte (CLINIQUE)
Liquid Eyeliner - Glam Eyes Rimmel
Mascara - the Falsies Maybelline
Powder Bronzer - 03 Sunblushed (CLINIQUE)

I hope this tutorial helped you. Let me know if you liked it below in the comments section.

Would you like to see more of these in the future?

p.s: I did not apply foundation for this look. I simply powdered my face with the bronzer. As for my lips I used two lip balms: baby lips/drenched & e.o.s/strawberry
