Do You See The Colors of the Wind?

Hello friends!

How is everyone doing lately? I'm doing well I just haven't showed you friends looks because its still constantly raining here in South Florida. We have been under Tornado and Flood watch as a result of this inclement weather. Its quite depressing actually but I'm making the best of it.

At least the good news is that the rain stops tomorrow and the chilly weather replaces it!

I'm so in love with the tribal trend lately! It really brings me back to my childhood when I thought Pocahontas was one of the most beautiful Disney characters ever. It feels nice to emulate her style a bit with the tribal trend.

I found this cool poncho on my grandma's closet as well and I wore it yesterday to bring out the Pocahontas within me. And I must say I really liked it! Unfortunately there are no full body shots to show you guys only the snip that I will post below.

Hopefully now that the rain is leaving I can feature this poncho in another OOTD.

I really like Pocahontas because she was a character that wanted to unite people despite their race and customs because she believed we were all similar in some way or another. Like her I also want to unite people someday. I believe it is imperative for today's world to be united because there's a lot that we can learn from each other but we fail to see it.

Now my questions to you guys are:

Do you agree with my rationality?

Are you a fan of the Tribal Trend?

Were you also inspired by Pocahontas as a child?

And now before I go I leave you with the most beautiful song in the Pocahontas soundtrack...

Colors of the Wind

p.s: Don't forget to mute my blog soundtrack to fully appreciate this song.

And my take on the Pocahontas look

Love,
Sheyla

  1. Omg, are you serious? Pocahontas is my favorite Disney movie... EVER!! I've watched it when I was little and I love it so much, I found it so touching and beautiful (I still watch it ^^), it sounds so weird to listen the song in English since I've watched it in French but I like it tho :), My favorite song is "Just Around the Riverbend" (the english version is called like that according to my research haha)
I totally agree with you, I love that she was fighting to unite people from different races! We're all humans, we all have the same needs so I don't get why people would judge others only because they're from a different "race"
I've always been a fan of tribal trend, I think it's a way to express a different side of you (sounds weird haha) and btw you look gorgeous! I love the earrings and headband :)

Sorry I got too excited, I wrote a lot haha

  3. Decidedly thank you to your grandma haha ^^
I totally agree union is strength, so a united nation can only produce beautiful and amazing things! This has awakened my dreams of changing the world haha.
Anyway I love Pocahontas too! Smaller, I had a collection of all Disney princesses. Pocahontas and the Little Mermaid were my favorites!
I'm also a fan of tribal trend because it pays tribute to African roots.
Inspiration from Pocahontas uh yes in a way because as I had long hair, I liked that my mom made me braids like her haha!
BTw I love your nails and earrings you look pretty Sheyla! Have a nice day :)

  15. Hi Llona de Vries!
You're welcome and thanks. I'm wearing a poncho I keep forgetting to feature it in a post because the temperatures here in South Florida are hot again. Thanks for the reminder though.
